There are select Budget NZ locations that allow returns outside of business hours. Please contact the return location directly or contact the Budget Reservations team to check if this is possible on 0800 283 438.

To ensure a seamless start to your journey, our vehicles are rented with a full tank of fuel. It would be appreciated if the vehicle was also returned with a full tank; however, if this is not possible, a refuelling charge will be applicable. The option of pre-paid fuel is on offer at select locations, and the exact rate of the refuelling charge will be available upon vehicle collection.

We have a range of ski accessories that can be added to your rental. Available from select South Island locations, refer to the recommended extras and equipment tab on step 3 of the website or app booking process for further information.

Customers travelling between the North and South Islands are permitted to take Budget rental vehicles on the Inter-Island ferries across Cook Strait.
